Misty Mountain Hop

The sun was out, we had no place to be, so we did what we do best,

we left.

After a few hours, and a few albums, we found ourselves back in Halls Gap.

We chose our home

set up

and met the neighbours.

The next morning we were up early,

a little too early...

and began our hike.

For everyone who asked why, this is my answer.

There is something magical in realising how insignificantly small you are.

Small, but invincible.

Come Together.

India, you are a mess, there is no denying it. Hectic, disorganised, a potential for disaster.
Yet somehow, amongst so much chaos, you offer hope.

Admittedly, when we arrived we had our defenses up: don’t listen to anyone, nothing is free, don’t get ripped off. Though this was a recipe for a ‘safe’ trip, we quickly adopted a new tactic: always say yes. It was with this new trust that strangers became lifelong friends, and our trip turned into an adventure.

So here’s to the people of India, the people of our stories. Thank you for a damn good time, for your generosity, for your existence.

“ That is how they manage to live together, a billion of them, in reasonable peace. They are not perfect, of course. They know how to fight and lie and cheat each other, and all the things that all of us do. But more than any other people in the world, the Indians know how to love one another”
